The emergence and spread of Islam

The emergence of Islam The spread of Islam in the era of the Prophet

Islam appeared with the beginning of the revelation of the Prophet - may God’s prayers and peace be upon him - as soon as the revelation came to him - may God’s prayers and peace be upon him - and his going to Warqa bin Nofal with his great wife Khadija - may God be pleased with her - and his knowledge that he is the prophet of this nation.

And he legislated by the command of his Lord - Glory be to Him - calling to the truth; So his wife Khadija - may God be pleased with her - embraced Islam, Abu Bakr al-Siddiq - may God be pleased with him - and his cousin Ali, who was a boy - may God be pleased with him - and his master Zaid - may God be pleased with him - Aisha - may God be pleased with her - told us about the beginning of the revelation; That the first thing the Prophet - may God’s prayers and peace be upon him - began with from prophecy is the true dream, so he used to see the dream and it came true as he saw it.

And Janas was alone in the cave of Hira for several days every month, and while he was in one of those retreats, when Gabriel - peace be upon him - came down to him and said to him: Read, and he answered him: “I am not a reader.” And he repeated it three times, then recited to him the five verses. The first is from Surat Al-Alaq. Then he returned - may God’s prayers and peace be upon him - frightened to his home, so his wife Khadija - may God be pleased with her - calmed him, and took him to her cousin Waraqa bin Nofal; The one who had converted to Christianity during the pre-Islamic era, then told him that he was the prophet of this nation, and his people would enmity with him for that

secret call stage

It was wise to start the call to the nascent religion far from clashing with the pagan domination of Mecca; So the Prophet - may God’s prayers and peace be upon him - began to spread the true religion among the people closest to him, as mentioned above. So did his companions who responded to the call, led by Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq - may God be pleased with him - who embraced Islam over a group of those who converted to Islam. Because of his endearing qualities to people, this stage lasted for three years.

The stage of the call is aloud

After a nucleus of the first Muslims was formed during the first three years of the call, God Almighty commanded his Prophet - may God’s prayers and peace be upon him - to speak out in the call, so the spread of the call began among the people, despite the enormous difficulties that stood in front of the spread of the truth, and among the features of that stage

Quraysh's hostility to the Messenger - may God bless him and grant him peace - by distorting his image in front of people, especially those coming to Mecca, as he was subjected to some torture and attempted murder. The torture of his companions, as each tribe ensured that its sons and slaves would be spared. The position of his uncle Abi Talib and Bani Talib who defended him allowed him to move freely, which helped his call to reach the people, despite the attempts of the Quraish leaders to abandon him, but he was met with rejection, and he and Banu Hashim endured the major boycott for three years in order to do so.

The Prophet - may God bless him and grant him peace - ordered his companions to migrate to Abyssinia, and it happened twice. His uncle Hamza bin Abdul Muttalib and Omar bin Al-Khattab - may God be pleased with them both - converted to Islam; The resolve of the Muslims was strengthened. The death of his wife Khadija and his uncle Abu Talib, and this had a great impact on the soul of the Prophet - may God’s prayers and peace be upon him - on the conditions of the da’wah. Migration to Yathrib, peace be upon him, after being sure of the impossibility of continuing the call to Mecca tried to find a new home for it, so God Almighty honored him with the conversion of the six people from Yathrib, then the two pledges of Aqaba, then the migration to it.

Migration to Medina

The Prophet - may God’s prayers and peace be upon him - migrated with his good friend - may God be pleased with him - to Yathrib, after most of his honorable companions - may God be pleased with them - emigrated, and when he arrived in Yathrib it was called Medina; And he began to establish the building of the greatest state over time and different places, and that includes his doing the following:

It began with the construction of the mosque, fraternity between the immigrants and the Ansar, and the writing of a document of duties and rights among the residents of the city. Spread Islam; The conquest of Hudaybiya and the conquest of Mecca had the greatest impact on this, until the influence of Muslims reached the borders of Persia and the Romans, and there were confrontations with the Romans in which the Muslims proved that they are a force to be reckoned with. Several armed confrontations took place between the Islamic State; Under the leadership of the Prophet - may God’s prayers and peace be upon him - and the infidel Quraish, most notably the Battle of Badr, Uhud, Al-Khandaq and Al-Hudaybiyah; To end with the conquest of Mecca, there were also confrontations between Muslims and neighboring powers, especially the Jews.

Spread of Islam in the era of the Companions

After his death, the Prophet - may God bless him and grant him peace - left a vast country; It included the entire Arabian Peninsula, which he left to men who carried it to the best of success, so the first Caliph Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq began to return the people to the truth, after most of those who converted to Islam at the time of the Prophet - may God’s prayers and peace be upon him – apostate

Then he proceeded to conquer the countries that the religion had not yet reached; So he was able - may God be pleased with him - with a rare efficiency to invade the entire Persian state in Iraq, and at the same time purify most of the Levant from the presence of the Romans. To Egypt, North Africa and others, and the conquerors were saving people from their dark rulers, and leaving people to learn about the true religion; People entered the religion of God in droves.
